Siemens Mobility has been given the go ahead by Wiltshire County Council to build a new manufacturing and research centre in Chippenham, UK. The £100m facility will be focused on digital engineering, advanced manufacturing and research and development (R&D) for rail technology.
Details of the Project
- Opening Timeline: The facility is set to begin operations in 2026.
- Construction Partner: Bowmer + Kirkland, a UK-based contractor, will handle the construction, scheduled to start early next year.
- Specialization: The hub will produce advanced rail signalling systems and digital rail solutions, aiding in modernising Britain’s railway infrastructure.
